Description
Minutes contain much the same information as those of the meetings of the former Board of Direction, covering all aspects of the hospital's administration and management. Summaries of Committee meeting minutes are included within those of the monthly meetings, along with inspection reports from visiting Board members. Statements of cheques drawn and payments made on bank accounts are included monthly from 1961 and notes on the annual accounts for year endings are given from 1963-1967, and 1971.

Biographical note
Crichton Royal Hospital became part of the National Health Service in July 1948. The first meeting of the Board of Management for Crichton Royal Mental Hospital was held on 26 April 1948, with the first monthly meeting taking place on 16 July 1948 .
