About this work

Description

The first entry is headed "The Position with Regard to the Penicillin Work, on December 1st 1940".

Experimental notes appear to start on p.25, dated 15 Feb 1941. These notes carry on until Jun 1941 and include notes of experiments treating animals and also human patients at the Radcliffe Infirmary (see p.141 onwards).

There is a break in the notes when Heatley goes to the USA and they are resumed in Aug 1942 (p.200) and end in Nov 1942. The notes resume again in Aug 1943 (p.242) and carry on to 20th Sep. On p.266 they begin again covering 7-10th Feb 1944 and 12th-18th May 1944. The last entry, headed "The Absorption of Penicillin from Under the Tongue" is dated 18 May 1944.
