Biographical note
Savage trained in obstetrics at the London Hospital from 1957. She worked as a specialist in obstetrics, gynaecology, venereology and family planning in New Zealand from 1973. She returned to England in 1976 and began working at the London Hospital as an Honorary Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Outside of her work at the hospital, she was an avid proponent of choice in childbirth.
