About this work

Description

Same handwriting throughout. No indication of writer's identity. The handwriting and paper suggest a late 17th century date, which is confirmed by the year 1692 written on fo. 63-64.

The pages are numbered (with mistakes) 1-73, then an unnumbered and multilated leaf, followed by pages numbered 90-257. Between pages 137 and 138, four pages from a smaller book have been inserted. The book has now been renumbered in consecutive folios.

The surgical lectures may be those of Alexander Monro, Primus, and if so, they are later in date than the anatomical lectures.
