Notes and papers relating to a strike and lock out, in response to the passing of the Employees' State Insurance Scheme, as employees were not willing to make contributions to the scheme from their salaries. Papers relate to the causes of the strike and responses to it, as well as post-strike relations, and include lists detailing individuals responsible for daylight organisation, etc.
