The standard French and English pronouncing dictionary; in two parts. Part I. French and English. Part.II. English and French. Containing several thousand words not inserted in any folio or octavo dictionaries now extant, many of which have been introduced, and sanctioned by the Members of the Constituent and Conventional Assemblies of France; and a greater number of Synonyma, in the signification of Words, than are to be found in any Work printed in the same Size. - The French, as well as the English Words are rationally divided into Syllables, accurately accented, and the various Sounds of the Vowels and local Powers of the Consonants precisely determined by Characteristic Types,-by which, from an Explanatory Key prefixed to each Part, the true Pronunciation of both French and English, is clearly demonstrated by apposite Words, whose Vowels have similar Sounds to those in the other Language, with which they are there contrasted.
