Description

The Grantly Dick-Read Working Party (also referred to as the GDR Working Party) was formed in September 1989 as a working group under Council. The group was responsible for organising celebrations surrounding the centenary of Grantly Dick-Read in 1990. Activities included an appeal for letters about Grantly Dick-Read and mother's birth stories and experiences; planned and organised a GDR reception; applied to English Heritage for a GDR blue plaque on Harley Street; published The Legacy of Grantly Dick-Read; among other promotional activities and events.
