Biographical note
This body was set up at the initiative of the MWF and seems to have had its secretariat at MWF HQ but appears to have been a distinct body, representing women in a variety of professions concerned about their common problems. Most of the Working Party's early activities represented in these files was around the problems of taxation affecting married professional women with children. In November 1967 a Women's Taxation Action Group (WOTAG) was formed. The concession for the separate assessment of husbands and wives was achieved and in 1973 the group reconvened to pursue tax concessions for working women who needed to provide for childcare or care of elderly dependants.
