Biographical note
There were apparently three separate filing sequences in operation over the period from the late 1940s to the early 1980s. In some cases subjects which were of interest over a lengthy period of time actually have two old references. There is some overlap between the end of one sequence and the beginning of the next. The files listed in this section represent the residuum of the filing sequences as far as they can be reconstructed: items dealing with relations with external bodies, relating to career matters, etc, will be found in the appropriate sections.
