About this work
Description
This is an extremely miscellaneous collection of papers which includes not only records generated by the activities of the MWF and predecessor bodies, but retrospective accounts and donated items relating to the subject, and it has therefore difficult to assign covering dates to many of these files. The original organisation and section titles have been retained, but some anomalies and inconsistencies have been rectified. A few further `Historical' items which were part of Accession 459 have been added to this Section.

Biographical note
In 1944 an Honorary Archivist was appointed by the MWF `to record matters of interest both past and present in the history of women in the profession of medicine', and the collection of the material now in this section began. In 1967 Dr Joan Haram was appointed Honorary Archivist and sorted and listed this historical material.
