Biographical note

The Professional Practice Committee had its first meeting on 21 Oct 1987, its membership consisting of 6 Council members, a representative from the Education Committee and one Remedial Gymnast. Its Terms of Reference are given as follows: "(i) to consider all aspects of professional practice with particular reference to the maintenance of professional standards. (ii) to monitor the core activities of physiotherapy practice. (iii) to advise Council on applications for recognition by Clinical Interest Groups, Occupational Groups and other Specific Interest Groups. (iv) to maintain liaison with Specific Interest Groups. (v) in conjunction with other Standing committees to prove CSP representation on groups concerned wih aspects of professional practice. (vi) to receive reports from the Preliminary committee of relevance to the scope of physiotherapy practice".
