Description

In 1965 Shell launched a project directed towards the restructure of the organisation to improve attitudes among its personnel and implement a participative management philosophy and style. The Tavistock Institute were employed to aid the senior management team of Shell in implementing the new organisational style. The focus of the project was on the joint optimization of the technical and social systems within Shell. Members of the Tavistock Institute attended management conferences as advisers.
