Biographical note
Ms Mandelstam took part in a three-week tour of China to look at health care measures. She was an incontinence adviser to the Disabled Living Foundation and was sponsored in part by the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, of which she is a member. The touring party also included doctors, a nurse and a social worker and they travelled through Wuhu, Hangchow, Shanghai and Huanshan visiting hospitals, schools, kindergartens and communes.
