By desire of several ladies and gentlemen. Positively the last night of performing. By permission of the Right Worshipful the Vice-Chancellor, and the worshipful the Mayor. Signior Rosignol respectfully acquaints the ladies and gentlemen of the University and town of Cambridge and its vicinity, that on Wednesday evening, November 15th inst. he will perform his imitations, at the Black Bear Inn, in Shoemaker-Row, and most humbly solicits their patronage. Admittance, 2s. Will be exhibited the wonderful performance of Signior Rosignol; ... What is esteemed a very great curiosity, he will whistle any piece of music, by the power of his lungs, and perform a variety of favorite airs, minuets, overtures, and marches, with several other pieces of music, on a violin without strings; accompanied with a band of music. The favourite songs of the Lullaby, the Soldier Tir'd, and a Scotch song, will be sung by Miss Rosignol. Between the acts, Signior Rosignol will give his grand imitation of singing and other birds, ... Miss Rosignol will also sing Old Towler, accompanied by Signior Rosignol. ... To begin at half past 6 o'clock. Tickets to be had of F. Hodson, printer, and at Mr. Hellendaal's music-shop. Mrs. Rosignol will teach any lady to cut watch-papers, of different kinds, and paper for other purposes, with a pen-knife,or make two sorts of fringe; also straw hats, and artificial flowers; on very reasonable terms. Specimens may be seen by applying to Mrs. Rosignol.

Apollo Gardens, Facing the Asylum, St. George's Fields, October 25, 1787, Mr. Claggett presuming and conceiving no Institution so likely to succeed and flourish as that founded on the permanent Basis of Piety and Benevolence, hath determined to dedicate the first Fruits of his Labours and Undertaking to the Assistance of the widow and daughter of the late Mr. Michael Arne. A Man whose professional Abilities and Excellencies will ever be held in high Estimation, and remembered with Delight by all those who had the Pleasure of being acquainted therewith, therefore it is earnestly requested such Persons will evince their Taste and Liberality in paying a Tribute to departed Merit, by taking the Relicts and Offspring of his Love under their immediate Protection On Thursday, November 22, will be performed at the above Place, for the benefit of Mrs. and Miss Arne, The favourite oratorio of Judith. Composed by the late Dr. Arne, With a double band and full chorusses, Consisting of some of the first performers, vocal and instrumental, The Particulars of which will be announced in the Papers Two or Three Days previous to the Performance. N. B. An occasional poetical address will be delivered on this Night only, Written and to be spoken by Mr. Claggett. To prevent Inconvenience to the Nobility and Gentry, only one thousand Tickets will be issued, which is two hundred less than the Room will hold; which Room is universally acknowledged to be the First in this Kingdom for Elegance, Novelty, and Design. Tickets five shillings each, to be had at the gardens, and at most of the principal Music Shops in Town. The General Subscription to the orchestra and room is now opened on the most liberal Terms. Extraordinary new performance. - Mr. Astley having prevailed on Mr. Handy to continue in London a few Nights longer, his Troop, consisting of Seventeen Equestrian Capital Performers, assisted by two celebrated young ladies, will appear at the Amphitheatre of Arts, Astley's, Westminster-Bridge. Particularly This present Wednesday, the 13th; Thursday, the 14th; Friday the 15th; and Saturday, the 16th of July; 1796, Tight-Rope Dancing, By the celebrated Miss Marian, and Sig. Saxoni, Who will play on the Violin, display Two Flags, and leap over a Garter, Ten Feet high, with other surprising Manoeuvres. A Comic Musical Piece, called, Jerry Sneak in his Glory; Or, The Humours of Garrat Election. Jerry Sneak, Mr. Johannot; Bruin, Mr. Fox; Adjutant, Mr. Whitmore; Major Sturgeon, Mr. Connell; and Mrs. Sneak, Mrs. Davis. Miss Marian will, in a surprising Manner, Stand on her Head On Jacob's Ladder, surrounded with Fire orks, At which Time the Ladder will fall to Pieces, and leave her on her Head on one Side, 11 Feet high. A comic, pantomimical Dance (composed by Mr. West) with Scenery analogous to the same, called, Cymon and Iphigenia. Principal Dancers Mr. West, and Mrs. Mercerot, assisted by Twelve Figurants. The Infant Rossignol [will] imitate the Notes of various Birds, and also accompany the Band on a Dumb violin. The Little Pony, only 30 Inches high, Will go through his wonderful Performances. Thirty-Five new Acts of Horsemanship, By Mr. Astley's, and Mr. Handy's unequalled Horsemen. A trail of skill, by twenty Horsemen, and two surprising females. Ground and Lofty Tumbling, by both troops. Particularly Master Robinson, a Child only three Years old, will astonish every Beholder. In the Intervals will be introduced the admired Pony Races.

The gentlemen of the town and neighbourhood of Manchester, Who were the first to make a publick Offer of Support to his Majesty, for the Suppression of the Rebellious Insurrection in America, Have been honored with his Majesty's Acceptance of a Regiment of One Thousand Men, to be raised at their own Expence. As a most distinguished Mark of the Royal Favour, And as an honorable Testimony of the Loyalty and Attachment of the Gentlemen who have proposed to raise this Regiment, His Majesty hath been pleased to Honor it with the Title Of the 72d Regiment of Foot, or Royal Manchester Volunteers, And hath ordered that it shall be commanded by a General Officer, whose Services abroad have been most particularly eminent; And hath promised, as an additional Honor, to Review this Regiment in Person when raised and compleat. All Gallant and Loyal Lancashire Men, Who wish to share the Honors of their King, and to suppress the daring Spirit of Rebellion, which hath been so presumptuously cherished and supported by the open and secret Enemies to his Majesty and the British Constitution, shall receive a Bounty equal to their Merit, and be compleatly equipped with Arms, Cloaths, and Accoutrements, requisite for a Gentlemen Royal Volunteer, on Application to Major Horsfall, Captain Aytoun, Captain Clowes, Or any other Officer belonging to the Regiment. As this Regiment is intended to be exhibited, not only as a publick Example of the Loyalty of the Promoters, but also as a pattern Regiment, both for Discipline and Character, no Recruits will be accepted under five Feet six Inches high, nor under 16 Years of Age. The Gentlemen and Officers Will beat up with Drums, Fifes, and a Band of Music every Market-Day, in Manchester, Bolton, Rochdale, and the adjacent Towns, where publick Entertainment will be given, as well to Recruits as others, and where every Young Man above 5 Feet 6 Inches, may have any reasonable Bounty he shall ask for. It is requested, that those who mean to honor this Celebrity with their Attendance, will be as early in their Application for Tickets, as they conveniently can, as it is intended to stop the Delivery of Tickets, when a sufficient Number has been disposed of, to fill the Places allotted for the Company; for it is proposed, to prevent Confusion, that this Year there shall be no Distinction of Places between Subscribers and Non-Subscribers.
