Notes

Rachel Lockwood comes from Darlington. She is currently studying a PhD in music composition at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Talks passionately about music and composition. Wants to continue writing music but is applying for work to pay the bills for when her PhD finishes. On the plinth she will be playing some of her music as well as working on a piece she is composing for a 10-piece wind band to be performed later in the year.
