Biographical note
The Service was set up by Professor Peter Huntingford in 1977. Following Huntingford's resignation in 1981, Savage ran the service until a Director of Well Women's Services was appointed in 1985. Savage acted as both a counselling doctor and gynaecologist, advising patients and administering abortions. She continues to work for the Service until her retirement from practice in 2000.
