About this work

Description

Initially the business of the Society was administered by the Committee, also known as the BSI Committee. However, in 1984 the Committee delegated some of this responsibility to an Executive Committee. The Executive Committee was never formally constituted and its decisions had to be approved by the Committee. In 1995, the Committee was replaced by a Council whose primary role was to formulate scientific programmes and policies. The daily management of the Society was left to a management committee.
