The newspapers mostly consist of informal news relating to the social activities of Wellcome Foundation employees, such as charity fundraising, new starters, weddings, retirements and obituaries. However, the volumes also contain details on such matters as the annual profits of the company; the sale of shares in the Wellcome Foundation, creating Wellcome plc; details of advertising campaigns for such Wellcome products such as Actifed, Sudafed and Calpol; Wellcome involvement in animal testing and Wellcome being awarded Queen's Awards for Technological Achievement (1985, 1986, 1987 and 1990) and Export Achievement (1989).

The newspapers also includes a regular book review column, written by Dr Roy Porter, of the Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine.
