Biographical note

The Committee had its first meeting on 22 Oct 1991 and was convened to "i) keep under review and advise Council and members on the Rules of Professional Conduct, the interpretation of those rules and the Professional Disciplinary Procedure Rules. ii) advise Council on eligibility for membership of the Society (other than on the content of UK degrees), and membership regulations. iii) consider any existing or proposed UK or EC legislation, or international conventions, affecting the profession. iv) monitor the registration requirements of other countries." The Committee consisted of a member of the CSP Council, a private practitioner, a member of the Education Committee and a member of the Professional Practice Committee. A subcommittee of the E&R Committee, which consisted entirely of members of the E&R Committee, was the Preliminary Committee, which was responsible for the enforcing of disciplinary measures based on the 1987 Professional Disciplinary Procedures Rules. After the meeting of July 1999 the Committee disbanded and became the Regulatory Committee.
