Description

Loose material relating to various aspects of Hart's work as part of the MRC including partial MRC report into chronic pulmonary disease in South Wales Coal fields (c.1938). Also includes press releases relating to the following: publication of Tuberculosis and Social Conditions in England with Special Reference to Young Adults by Hart and G. Payling Wright (1948), MRC reports regarding BCG and Vole Bacillus vaccines in the prevention of tuberculosis in adolescents (1956 and 1959), colloquium led by Hart, J. A. Armstrong and Sheila N. Payne regarding tubercle bacilli in macrophages (1970). Also includes letter of congratulation from MRC to Hart regarding the success of the BCG trial (1959), letter of congratulation from Professor John Crofton following Hart's retirement from the TRU (1965), note regarding Hart's appointment to the TRU and his research into the effectiveness of streptomycin in treating tuberculosis (1996) and copy of Hart's letter of resignation from the MRC's National Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) in 2002.
