About this work

Description

An artwork by Tuberculosis Patient 1 - "John" which shows a lanscape with multiple horizons. There are three small stunted trees in the foreground with a pool behind them. In the distance is a line of fenceposts.

This artwork was numbered '9' in Rita Simon's sequence.

The artwork is reproduced in The Symbolism of Style Plate 8.2 and discussed in detail by Rita Simon on page 135.

The title has been taken from the caption used in The Symbolism of Style.

Rita Simon classified this artwork as Massive Transitional on the verso of the artwork and as Archaic Transition in The Symbolism of Style.
