Information contained includes patient name and number, name and address of Obligant, date of admission and date of discharge or death. Dates of discharge and death are not always recorded. Rate of board is recorded in some cases. The earliest date of admission in this volume is 1858 and the latest is 1906.

Biographical note

Interns were patients who were from the three Southern Counties of Dumfries, Kirkcudbright and Wigtownshire. They paid a lower rate of board than externs, who were from out with the area.
