Description

Register contains patient name, admission number and department (i.e. I, II or III); date of operation, name of surgeon, assistant and anaesthetist; type of operation, charges for surgeon, anaesthetist, operating theatre and dressings; ledger folio and initials of Physician Superintendent. Ledger folio ceases to be recorded in 1945 and from July 1948 charges and initials of Physician Superintendent cease to be recorded. From February 1959 the names of staff present during the operation and the time and duration of the operation are recorded. The volume is divided, with general operations recorded on pages 1 to 24 and 71 to 108; and ear, nose and throat operations on pages 25 to 46. On the inside cover there is a typed notice attached relating to surgical charges for rate-aided patients, 2 December 1938. The register is indexed at the front.
