Biographical note

Rita Simon described "Linda" as a young woman, approximately 24 years old. She had had a terrible car accident which left her badly disabled (brain-damaged and with physical damage to her arms and legs). She had walked with a zimmer frame but because her balance was too bad, she gave up and used walking sticks. She was very highly defensive and determined not to be pitied. With the compensation money from the car accident, she bought her own house.

This information is taken from conversations between Rita Simon and Wellcome staff between 1995 and 1997.
