Biographical note

From the 27/28th of January 2004, the Education Committee changed both its name and its membership, becoming the Learning and Development Committee as "the Education Committee did not feel that membership of the Committee fully reflected the activities for which it was responsible. In particular it did not think that one person "representing" research was sufficient. It was also agreed to add a representative from the CIG Liaison Group." The change reflects the increasing importance of research and continuing professional development. As such, there is considerable overlap with the Professional Practice Committee and the Clinical Interest Groups Liaison Committee (see SA/CSP/C.1/11 and SA/CSP/J.6 respectively).
