Two issues of the printed Lettre-Journal de Paris, issued during the siege of 1870, each with a blank page used by Shrimpton to write to the Dowager Countess of Essex in London. The letters are marked as leaving the besieged city by balloon. Printed biographical details and a photograph, presumably of the Countess of Essex, are mounted with no.16.
