Including: notes "taken from Robert Clark 9th November 1907" referring to Silas Mainville Burroughs's first premises in London and early arrangements for packing malt; notes taken from memoranda "found among the late Mr Sudlow's papers" about the early history of the firm; a memo to Mr Curtis (10 April 1940) referring to Burroughs renting two rooms on first floor of 92/93 Great Russell Street in 1878 whilst trading as Burroughs Wellcome & Co.

Burroughs and Wellcome's partnership began in 1880 and started business at 8 Snow Hill, renting 1 Cock Lane (used for storage of Kepler and Hazeline products) before moving to 7 Snow Hill in 1881. In 1884, Burroughs Wellcome & Co. moved to 67 Holborn Viaduct. ["Snow Hill Buildings" first appeared in advertisements issued October 1883.]

'The following is a digest of some memoranda found among the late Mr Sudlow's papers, shortly after his decease, of interest in connection with the foundation of the firm' (Memo relates the tale of the office boy stealing Burroughs' money and losing it at the Derby). Written by W. A. R, dated 17 March 1914.
