Description

4 on tissue paper and 8 on silk. Also a small piece of paper [label?] with 10 Chinese ms.characters on it.

Illustrated with brands on some of the calenders 'Tabloid Quinine Bisulphate'; 'Hazeline Snow'; 'Kepler Solution'; Wellcome Quinine Sulphate';

One of the silk paintings has a stamp date in the top left corner on the front, "14 Aug. 1909" with a stamp on the top left corner of the reverse filled in ink; No: "Special Calender (B&W), Title: 'Shops and village scene". Phonetic: " Kepler" and "Hazeline Snow". 'This design is the property of Norbury Natzio Co., Ld. Manchester.'

**Please Note: Some of the paintings have been placed in archival folders within Mylar sleeves. To view these items please remove the folders by holding down the mylar at the bottom edge while pulling the top of the folder from the top opening of the Mylar sleeve. Slowly pull the folder from the sleeve ensuring that the folder remains horizontal and is slid onto a flat surface. Open the folder slowly to prevent air flow from disturbing the thin supports. Rehouse in a similar manner. **
