Biographical note
The Regional and European seminars, workshops and meetings were a key objective in meeting the aims of the IEA, and the first symposium was held at Leiden, the Netherlands, in July 1958, when the Association was known as the International Corresponding Club.
Seminar reports include session outline, speakers, IEA EC and member participant lists, full attendance lists, expenditure and budgets, seminar reports and summaries, and participants' evaluation and local action planning. Later Regional meetings produced bound proceedings and abstracts, and many IEA publications developed out of these meetings and seminars for teaching and training purposes.
