Biographical note

This was established in 1919 to deal with recruitment and publicity. It became the Recruitment and Propaganda Sub-committee in 1948 and the Recruitment Sub-committee in 1952. In 1961 it was succeeded by a Recruitment and Development Sub-committee with additional duties to survey the whole field of the Association's work, noting any relevant trends and developments. In 1966 it also took over the activities of the International Sub-committee (see B.17 below). In 1971, together with the Conditions of Service and Training Committee, it was dissolved, and both were replaced by a Standing Regional Committee for which there are no records in this collection.
