About this work

Description

From 1928-1934 Johnston-Saint was given the role of 'Foreign Secretary' for the WHMM and during this period he travelled extensively in France, Spain, Italy, the Middle East and India, not only collecting for the Museum but also building up a network of important contacts and acting as its representative at international conferences, etc. During his travels he kept detailed ms 'diaries' or logs of his activities day by day which were sent back to London, typed up and filed with copies of the outward letters from the London office to him. The reports in this section are therefore in two sequences: Johnston-Saint's original ms diaries and the typed and filed reports, probably kept by Dean.[Both sequences of these reports were mainly extracted from FC 11c]
