Biographical note

The Committee on Hazards to Man of Nuclear and Allied Radiations was established by the Medical Research Council in 1955 in response to a request from the Prime Minister, and chaired by Sir Harold Himsworth. The first report of the Committee was published in 1956. The second report, titled The Hazards to Man of Nuclear and Allied Radiations: a second report to the Medical Research Council was published in 1960, and authored by Sir Harold Himsworth, F.R .S.
