Description
Includes minutes, correspondence, circulated papers and reports from committees that Mayneord was a member of. The majority of the papers relate to Mayneord's work with the MRC, including papers of the MRC Committee on the Medical and Biological Applications of Nuclear Physics; MRC Committee on the Protection Against Ionizing Radiations (PIRC); MRC Research Committee on the Hazards to Man of Nuclear and Allied Radiations; MRC Cyclotron Unit Advisory Committee. Also includes papers of the joint MRC/AEA Coordinating Committee for Radiobiological Research, and the MRC/MOH Radiological Protection Service. As well as MRC Committees, there are also records relating to the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation, of which Mayneord was the first chairman in 1956, as well as papers from the International Organisation for Medical Physics.
