Description

Photograph of an oil painting attributed to Cornelius Troost, depicting a scene in a 'Lying-in Room', a postpartum recovery room. This reproduction was made during the VI International Congress for the History of Medicine held in Leiden 1927 at the Exposition d'art Medico-Historique and is described as Tableaux [Painting] 36, La chambre de l'accouchee, in the exhibition catalogue. The original painting is held by the Boymans Museum, Rotterdam. Another photograph of this image was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum on 20th September 1929 (PHO 54).
