Biographical note

Miss Rudland Hills entered Bristol General Hospital as a Probationer in 1912, and completed her education in General Nursing, Massage and Electrotherapy there. In 1916 she began training students in Medical Electricity at Bristol General Hospital and continued to teach till she was appointed Principal of the Cardiff School of Physiotherapy in 1929. In 1938 she was appointed Head of the Preliminary Training School at Herefordshire General Hospital. In 1941 she was appointed assistant lecturer at the School of Physical Medicine at Toronto University. In 1944 she returned to England and in 1946 set up the Bath School of Physiotherapy. She worked at the Newcastle upon Tyne School of Physiotherapy from 1950 and later moved to the School of Physiotherapy at the Royal Devonshire Hospital, Buxton.
