Contains a letter from The Lancet regarding a paper by Bleyer on the role of advanced maternal age in causing Down's syndrome; an untitled typescript by Penrose synthesising recent studies on maternal age and Down's syndrome, and sent to The Lancet in March 1938; and a typescript paper by Penrose titled "A Method of Separating the Relative Aetiological Effects of Birth Order and Maternal Age, with special reference to Mongolian Imbecility" [sic].
