Correspondence between L D Sanghvi, Indian Cancer Research Institute, and Penrose, consisting of 2 letters, in which Sanghvi provides a table of figures of total births, anencephalic births, and births described as "monsters" in the confinement books at Wadia Hospital, and Penrose's reply thanking Sanghvi and suggesting the "monsters" requiring further investigation are likely to be anencephalic cases.
