Pharmaceutical Labels

The Guard book contains product labels and packing for 'TABLOID' brand products, unless stated otherwise. For example 'TABLOID ACID SODIUM SULPHATE'.

The volume has been conserved, items have been removed from the original guard books and remounted in sleeves and ringbinders. This enables researchers to easily read items (front and reverse) without damage to the original. The original order has been retained. Each item has a small pencil number in the corner giving the original page number and clockwise its order on the page (e.g. 4a, 4b, 4c).
Due to the size of the original guard book it has been split into 2 albums:
Album 1 = Original Index and pp.1-150;
Album 2 = pp.151-303.

For ease of use the catalogue description has been split into two. Items have been indexed alphabetically, with page numbers and dates: -
WF/M/GB/27/2/1 = Product labels indexed alphabetically by name
WF/M/GB/27/2/2 = Other printed material, such as company stationery, indexed by type.

Notes: pp. 114, 247 & 248 were blank.; p. 39, 1x product label obscured & not catalogued; p. 134 inc. loose note of numbers in pencil; p. 237, 1x set of unidentified labels; p. 257 & 258, 1x loose unidentified item; p. 289 & p. 290, 1x loose page is now identified as p. 289a & 289b; p. 289b & p. 290 inc. a fragment of a price list . PLEASE NOTE ** Should readers wish to consult items which are folded (such as folded leaflets or pamphlets) they must approach the Poynter Room Supervisor first.
