About this work

Description

Following a memorandum by the Scientific Advisory Committee proposing changes to the content and format of the Annual Report, the Grand Council referred the matter to a sub-committee, called the Annual Report Sub-Committee, which first met in Feb 1937. This Sub-Committee recommended that there be an editorial committee for the Annual Report and this led to the formation of a 'Annual Report Editorial' Sub-Committee, which met from Jun 1937 and was responsible for producing the Annual Report of the Campaign. Although members were nominated by the SAC, this was a sub-committee of the Executive Committee. In Jul 1946 the Grand Council approved the production of a British Journal of Cancer and placed its management in the hands of the Executive Committee working through the 'Annual Report Editorial' Sub-Committee. In Sep the Executive Committee decided to change the title to the 'Editorial Sub-Committee', charged with the production of the Journal and the Annual Report. It first met in Oct 1946.
