About this work

Description

The Campaign was governed by the Council (formerly called the Grand Council) which was supported by two main divisions: a scientific policy and consultative division, headed by the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and a managerial, administrative and supervisory division, headed by the Executive Committee. A large number of standing and short-term committees reported to the SAC and the Executive Committee. The arrangement of files in this section corresponds to this general structure of the Campaign. (It should be noted that due to the unavailability of sufficient information on the Campaign's filing system and history, this arrangement may not be an entirely accurate reflection of the Campaign's original structure).

References formerly assigned by the Campaign are in the Previous Numbers field. (See Arrangement field in the Collection level description 'Note on the Campaign's filing system', for information on files generated by Campaign central headquarters and the old references system).
