Biographical note

A Standardisation of Conditions of Service Sub-committee was first appointed in 1930, in response to a Ministry of Health report on the conditions of service of Women Public Health Officers, but, along with the National Health Service Sub-committee, was dissolved in 1948; a newly elected Conditions of Service Sub-committee replaced these two. In 1966 the decision to combine the Conditions of Service and Training Sub-committees (see B.16 below) into one body based on regional representation was taken, but the new Sub-committee did not actually meet until 1968. In 1971 this, too, was dissolved and joined with the Recruitment, Development and International Sub-committee to form a Standing Regional Sub-committee.
