About this work

Description

Correspondence regarding a trip to Washington State University as Visiting Distinguished Lecturer in Natural Sciences during Spring semester, 1973. Crick presented a series of lectures in the graduate course 'Chemistry 568, Macromolecular Assemblies: Structure and Function' during the period 19-23 February, 1973, on 'Structure and Function of Chromosomes'.

On 21 February, Crick also gave a "general talk," called "On Chance and Necessity". Crick advised Professor Ralph G Yount (10 November, 1972) that "this would deal with Jacques Monod's recent book but would not merely be a review of the book but my own ideas on the same subject."

The correspondence includes a brief letter to Crick's son, Michael Crick, recently settled in Seattle.
