About this work

Description

A painting by psychiatric patient 12 depicting a head and shoulders with a black border. According to Rita Simon it was named "The Basse" by the patient in reference to herself, the base one. It was also partly a portrait of a nurse who persecuted her.

The title has been taken from the caption used in Rita Simon's publication.
