Benjafield relates his experiences in charge of the 37th Mobile Laboratory - the Burroughs Wellcome Mobile Laboratory - which had been presented to the Government for the war effort by Henry Wellcome.

Laboratory taken to Alexandria, then Ludd in Palestine. With details on cholera tests, smoking in the lab, typhus malaria and other tests, and the influenza epidemic.
