Distant view of ambulance tents and red cross flags. Probably No 10 Casualty Clearing Station. In the build-up to the Battle of El Alamein they were forbidden to put up red crosses anywhere because it would indicate to the Germans where the major part of the battle would be. They were machine gunned, but never hit while Williams was there. L23061
