What you’ll do

Join Hazal Baybasin, founder of skincare brand Blind Beauty, for a tour of ‘The Cult of Beauty’.

Hazal will share how her personal experiences with beauty changed after her sight loss. After exploring the exhibition, you are invited to join a discussion with Hazal about what beauty means to you.

Featuring historical objects, artworks, films and new commissions, ‘The Cult of Beauty’ considers the influence of morality, status, health, age, race and gender on the evolution of ideas about beauty.

The exhibition includes nudity, racist and misogynist materials. It features some sensory elements, including scent and sound.

About your guide

Hazal Baybasin

Hazal Baybasin

Hazal Baybasin is the founder and CEO of skincare brand Blind Beauty. Four years ago, Hazal was diagnosed with a neurological condition which resulted in permanent sight loss. Her whole world turned upside down overnight and life as she knew it completely changed. Learning to accept and adapt to her new disability was and still is one of the hardest things she has ever had to do. One of the biggest challenges she faced was the lack of accessibility and awareness about blindness, which led her to launch her own business.
