Interior of the Greek church of Baloukli, originally Panagia Pege (Balikli Rum Kilisesi) in Istanbul. In the print, an artist is shown making paintings, while a patient lies on the floor being treated by the miraculous water. The interior of the church is seen beautifully ornamented and decorated with paintings and religious icons. The church is famous for its the spring with miraculous fish. These fish have been in the basin for centuries, giving the origin to the Turkish name of the complex (balikli, in Turkish meaning "place where there are fishes")

The ruins of Laodicea including a theatre are seen with some local people and animals. The mountain of Yunt is seen in the background. Laodicea was earlier known as Diospolis and Rhoas. The city was the ancient Hellenistic metropolis of Phrygia Pacatiana (also attributed to Caria and Lydia), built on the river Lycus (Çürüksu), in Anatolia near the modern village of Eskihisar, Denizli Province, Turkey. The church at Laodicea was one of the Seven Churches to whom the Book of Revelation was addressed (Revelation 1:4 and 3:14)
