Advertisement. The Proprietors of Shakspeare Illustrated by Portraits, &c. beg leave to remind the Patrons of this novel and difficult undertaking, that in order to keep their promise of completing the Work in Thirty Numbers, they have, for several months past, been encreasing the number of plates, on each delivery, till they have given in some of the latter numbers almost three times the quantity originally proposed. Notwithstanding which, there are some materials yet remaining in their possession, and others promised to them, sufficient to make perhaps two numbers more; but as they do not hold themselves justified in such a further extension of their scheme as might protract the close of their undertaking, they do not think it proper to solicit a continuance of the Subscription, by which it has been so highly honoured. - As soon, however, as the Plates for these two additional numbers can be engraved, they may be had by such of the Subscribers as choose to purchase them, at the original Subscription price. They cannot take leave of their Subscribers, without at the same time returning their sincere thanks to those Noblemen and Gentlemen, who, in the most liberal manner, have assisted them with the use of several original Pictures and Drawings, which has greatly contributed to the ornament and value of their work.

Fleet-Street, Nov. 23, 1791. Mr. Harding has now the pleasure to inform the subscribers to this work, that it will be completed in Thirty Numbers, and even to comprize it within that Compass, he will be under the Necessity of giving in the future Numbers considerably more Engravings than were originally promised in each Number, though the Price will continue the same: a Circumstance which he cannot lament, as it gives him an Opportunity of shewing his Gratitude for the very liberal Encouragement this Work has met with. As he finds that a few Gentlemen, though they expressed a very high Approbation both of the present Undertaking, and of the Manner in which it has been executed, have neglected to subscribe to it, from a mistaken Notion that the whole Work might be purchased at a cheaper Rate when finished, Mr. Harding begs Leave to inform the Publick in general, that positively no more than Seven Hundred Impressions of the Plates will be worked off; after which the Plates will be destroyed. The Subscription will be open till the Work shall be entirely finished, or the total Number of Impressions shall be sold; but the unjust Mode of demanding a Premium from those who wish to become Subscribers, will at no Time be adopted.

A catalogue of valuable books, in divers facculties and languages, which will be exposed to sale by way of auction four successive days, at Joseph Drew's bookseller, just below Gandy's Lane, in the Highstreet, Exon. To begin on Monday the first of November, 1742, at nine o'clock in the morning, and at three in the afternoon, and so to continue for the three following days. The number of, and what books will be sold each day the catalogue doth specify. Heretosore gentlemen have been wearied in giving attendance day after day, in expectation of having the book or books inclined to put up: therefore, to prevent the like inconveniency, the auctioneer hath proposed the above method, by which, gentlemen may judge to half an hour, the time of each book being sold. Likewise, he presumes, that no country gentleman's friend in town would refuse executing a commission, while there will not be that lost of time usually complain'd of. Gentlemen who favour the auctioneer with commissions, may depend on their being faithfully executed. The books are in good condition, (many of them as fair as new) and may be view'd the week preceding the day of sale, at which place catalogues may be had gratis; and at Kittoe's Coffee-House. Conditions of sale as usual. N.B. The said Joseph Drew buys old books particularly clergymens and gentlemens studies.
