About this work

Description

Correspondence, memoranda and notes of meetings concerning the East African supply of pyrethrum extract, a material used in the production of Coopercote (a Pybuthrin varnish used to coat paper and carton board used in the packaging of foodstuffs, where long-term storage requires protection against insect pests).

Several newspaper cuttings (East African Standard) concerning a Commission of Enquiry into a dispute between the Pyrethrum Board of Kenya and Mitchell Cotts Ltd, factory owners, brought to an abrupt halt by an explosion at the East African Extract Corporation factory in Nairobi (February, 1960), events which caused supply interruption.

"Operation Coopercote: Preliminary Report of the Executive Committee on the Marketing of Coopercote" (November, 1960).

Correspondence (1958) with Company Secretary concerning pyrethum formulations (cattle sprays) used in Kenya (para-aminoazobenzene on licence from the Standard Oil Company, USA).
