The first part covers his life at Cambridge, and later in London and elsewhere (pp. 1-279), the second his life in London, where he was physician to the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond St. He obtained his M.D. at Cambridge in 1869, and was elected F.R.C.P., London in 1874, resigning in 1902.
